GemStone/S software

The simplest way to install the GemStone/S Web Edition for Linux or Mac OS X is to download and execute the installGemstone.sh script with the version string as an argument. For example the following downloads and installs the GemStone/S 3.1.0.5 release:

     installGemstone.sh 3.1.0.5

This script downloads GemStone/S and install it in /opt/gemstone automatically. If /opt/gemstone/product already exists, you should rename or remove it before executing the script.

However, if you only need a copy of the product archive, download the one for your platform below.

GemTools: one-click Pharo image

GemTools contains everything you need to connect to GemStone/S and start developing a Seaside application – Pharo image/changes, GemStone library, even a Pharo VM. It runs on Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. Download the version that matches your GemStone/S release: 3.0.1 or 3.1.0.

After starting up GemTools, update to the latest version by following these instructions.

For more information on GemTools, see the GemTools Launcher Guide.
